THE TEAM
In the Nairobi office we have twelve staff, excluding our team of multlingual driver -guides. ANNIE CORCORAN – Managing Director
Annie was born in Nairobi, Kenya, and apart from short spells overseas for schooling has lived there all her life. Annie has many years experience in the tourism industry in Kenya and East Africa. Annie spent many years working for a large incoming tour operator in Kenya, starting her career with them in the reservations department. After some time she was promoted to Sales Manager and spent the next two years in that capacity, travelling world-wide and increasing international sales. Annie then became Manager, Special Accounts and Incentives and succeeded in running many imaginative incentives to East Africa from all over the world. Then Annie changed track and ran the luxury tented safari division for a smaller company for two years. Annie’s experience in tourism is extremely varied and she plans to put Liberty Africa Safaris on the map, utilizing her skills to ensure that clients are personally looked after and return home with a true African memory. Annie lives in Nairobi with her husband Richard, and their two daughters Tiva, Sala and son, Shasa.


RICHARD CORCORAN
– Director of Operations
Born in Nairobi, Richard has spent all his life in Kenya, building up the most extensive product knowledge of East Africa, and all aspects of tourism. He started his life in tourism at a very early age, when he was manager of a Safari Club in the Rift Valley. He then went on to run a bush camp in Tsavo. Richard then worked for a large tour operator in Nairobi for 11 years, starting as a tour guide, and working in most areas of operations. His wide experience and professionalism ensured that the company maintained it’s excellent reputation in Field Operations, client relations and transportation. He left his employment in 1997 to become part of the Liberty team, establishing Liberty Africa Safaris with his wife Annie. Richard is a naturalist and conservationist, who is always ready to share his love of the African bush with clients and friends.

KIMUTAI LANGAT
– Operations
Langat was born in the Rift Valley province of Kenya and did his primary and secondary school education here. Langat then moved to Nairobi to enrol in the Alliance Francaise for a 2 year Diploma course. Langat then joined Liberty Africa Safaris at its inception and has been a valuable member of the operations team ever since.


MOTI KIGUZO – Licensing & Administration
Kiguzo was born and brought up on the South Coast of Kenya. Before his higher education, Kiguzo was a teacher. Kiguzo joined a clearing and forwarding firm in Mombasa and was transferred to Nairobi as transport supervisor. Whilst in Nairobi, Kiguzo became interested in Wildlife and Conservation and joined a large tour operator based in Nairobi to serve in the licensing and administration department. Kiguzo has been with Liberty Africa Safaris since its inception in the Licensing and Administration department


MICHAEL KIROGA
– Operations/Accounts
Michael was born in Nairobi and did his primary and secondary education in Central Province. Michael then did accountancy courses in 1995 after which he joined Liberty in the Accounts and Operations departments. Click for the top of the page.



DORIT GOLDBERGER – Direct Sales
Dorit was born in Israel and on moving to Kenya in 1969, this has been her home ever since. All Dorit’s four children were born in Kenya. She holds an IATA/UFTAA Diploma and her varied work with major tour and travel companies has given her wide experience. Dorit has been with Liberty Africa Safaris since its inception, and has been instrumental in obtaining business for Liberty with the local Israeli Community here in Kenya.


SUSHIL THAKAR
- Operations
Sush was born in Nairobi where he also completed his O' Level and A' Level education. His passion and commitment for wildlife, conservation and travel, then took Sush to the UK for three years where he graduated with a BA (HONS) in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management in 1998. On return to Kenya, Sush worked with various large tour operators as a tour guide and in operations, before he joined the Liberty Africa team.


ROSE KIVUVA – Operations
Rose was born in Machakos where she did her primary school education. She then moved to Nairobi to complete Secondary school. In 1992, Rose did computer courses before joining a large tour operating firm in the marketing department. Rose then joined Liberty Africa Safaris in the Operations Department.

KENNETH K. SWAI - Reservations Supervisor - Kenneth was born and went to school in the Rift Valley. After completing high school, he joined Kenya Airways, where he developed an interest in the Travel Industry. He then enrolled at the Kenya Utalii College in 1987, where he obtained an IATA Diploma as a Travel Consultant. Kenneth has worked with various airlines in Nairobi and has a wealth of experience in air travel. He has obtained various training in airline ticketing and reservations at a supervisory level. He joined the Liberty team in 2002.

LAWRENCE J. KIMANI - Accounts
Lawrence was born in Naivasha, where he also started and completed his Primary education. He completed his Secondary education in Nakuru, afterwhich he moved to Nairobi and joined the Kenya College of Accountancy.
On succesful completion of his exams, Lawrence joined the Liberty Africa Safaris in 2001 in the accounts department. Lawrence maintains all the accounting records and books as per the requirements of the International Accounting Standards and regulations of the Government of Kenya.
